Good morning friends, how has your week been? Mine has been hectic to say the least; I arrived back from my trip to New York on Monday, but in typical me fashion I picked up a bug while I was over there, so had to take an extra couple days to recuperate.
Anyway, I can’t imagine you want to hear about that– you’re interested in my trip, aren’t you? Well, it was just smashing. I had the best time ever with my NYC framily– just relaxing, eating (a lot), shopping (a little), and generally enjoying each other’s company. As you may remember, I’d gone over to celebrate my best friend’s 30th birthday (and yes, she was very surprised to see me), so the weekend was more friends and partying than museums and culture.
I’ve got a load of photos to go through from the four-day celebrations, but thought I’d kick things off with a few snaps taken last Thursday, on American Thanksgiving. My first day in the city, it dawned absolutely gorgeous, with a stillness that you seldom get in New York. Our plans for the day involved nothing more than sleeping in, a suitably American breakfast of fruit and Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, and a walk in Central Park. The perfect welcome from one of my favourite cities.
