Longtime readers will know that I’ve got a serious thing for linens and textiles of all kinds. Perhaps it’s my background in fashion , but beautiful, luxe fabrics put to good use just make me happy. My parents’ linen closet in Canada is one of my favourite things about their home, especially at this time of year. The ritual of choosing blankets from the stash (and it is a stash) for my bed when the nights turned cooler is one of my strongest memories of growing up.
Here in London, the nights are definitely getting cooler ( sad emoji), but unfortunately I have no such mythical linen closet to help myself to. I do have the internet, however, and I’ve been putting it to good use. Here are a few of my favourite blankets and throws from around the web, perfect for adding some cozy layers to your bed or sofa this Autumn.
Trad, wooly blankets are always in style, and seem to get better with age. I love the Harry blankets from Area, and this Tonal Mohair Blanket from beloved homeware brand Toast.
Not quite as warm, but fun to look at, textured blankets and throws add visual interest wherever they’re tossed. I think this classic-looking Crotchet Blanket from Zara Home and the more minimal Moss-knit Blanket from H&M Home.
I’ll always love funky geometrics in monochrome greys: so retro but with so much longevity. I’m obsessed with Eleanor Pritchard textiles like this 405 Line blanket, and of course, Ferm Living does great versions as well, like the Remix Blanket.
Just the other day I was at a friend’s house and admired the vintage-style quilted throw she had on her bed. You can find new ones in fun patterns, like the AB090 style from House Doctor, or chic neutrals, as in this Linen Ombre Throw fromFrench Connection.

Blankets and throws are something that’s easy to change out as the mood (and weather) strikes, so go all out with colour and/or pattern. I love this patterned Welsh Knit Throw from John Lewis, and the brightly-coloured Edric Throw from Habitat.
That’s it for me from today– I’ve had a busy week and can’t wait to kick back at a friend’s birthday party tonight. Have a lovely (and warm) weekend, folks! x
