We have been having the worst summer here in the UK; rain, rain, temperatures barely in the teens, and more rain. At least it explains the cottage daydreams I’ve been having lately.
“Going to the Cottage” is taken very seriously where I’m from, and I grew up visiting family and friends on various lakes across Eastern Ontario and Quebec. Since moving to the UK, however, I’m not often home in the summer, and rarely with enough time to make a trip to one.
Well, enough is enough. I’m going home to Canada for my sister’s wedding next month, and I’m going to try my hardest to wrangle an invite to someone’s cottage for a couple days. It’s been entirely too long since I lay on a dock, jumped in a lake or even felt the sun on my face.
