As I type this, I can hardly believe that I have to be at work in an hour; I still feel half asleep. I spent the entire weekend sourcing products for my new freelance job, and let me tell you, the life of a professional shopper isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Okay, I lie. It’s great fun, but I’m still exhausted. I must have spent nine to ten solid hours on my feet this weekend, shlepping through London’s best design shops in search of the chicest furniture and lighting for my client (with the requisite breaks for breakfasts and coffees with friends, of course). I managed to find some great stuff, and will spend the coming week making some decisions, drawing and spreadsheet-ing it up. But first, here’s a little peek at what the last week looked like for me…
1 Planning this weekend’s trip to Paris. As much as I rely on my iPhone, there’s nothing like strategizing the old fashioned way, with a map and pen.
2 I went to the launch party of Holly Becker‘s new book Decorate Workshop at Anthropologie on Tuesday evening. The crowd was huge and I was stuck waaaay at the back of the room, but it’s always fun hearing Holly speak.
7, 8 Two different days, two different Whistles shops, two different leather jackets. No, I’m not really in the market for a £300 leather jacket, but there’s no law against trying them on, right? Despite the best efforts of all my
enablers friends on Instagram, I haven’t caved yet :)
So there’s my stuffed-to-the-gills week. How was yours?
