I highly suggest Santorini-don’t miss it. After that I suggest Naxos. We visited Athens, but it is very touristy and I wish we had not spent more than a day there. Mykonos is very fun for nightlife, but touristy. We spent a few days in Santorini and wished we had more…it is easiest to choose an island grouping and travel between those because the boat rides are very long :) have a great time!

Isn’t that your number one hobby all year round?!

I did not like Athens so I would pack all the sights into as short a timeframe as possible there and then head elsewhere.

Athens is city to discover. It’s only touristy in the center. There are gastronomical tours, little spots that you must discover from the locals, stores that you must visit. Andros is a gorgeous island, on the Aegean, Ithaca, Paxi, Kefalonia, on the Ionian sea. I would definitely suggest the Ionian sea in case you go in August, because the Aegean is very windy. I would avoid Myconos and Santorini because they’re way too touristy.

My future brother-in-law is from Athens and Santorini and we’re headed there for their wedding at the end of June! It has always been a dream of mine to go to Greece! The wedding itself is outside of Athens at the beach, so we will be there for 4 days and then we will head to Santorini for another 4 days. Since we’ll be with so many locals I’m hoping to find the best spots to eat (!), shop and tour. I’m an architect and a Greek mythology enthusiast so the acropolis and ruins are a must. I’ll let you know what I find out!
