I think it seems, to some people in my life (and on my Facebook), that I’m always travelling. Personally, I feel that I don’t do enough of it, and would love nothing more than to quit my job, have an unlimited cashflow (from where, I’m not sure) and travel the world. And while I generally love proving others wrong, I’m afraid in this case, I can’t: I’m off again, up to Glasgow for a long weekend.
The last time I visited this city, I was 17 and backpacking around the UK with my best friend. Apart from the absolutely beautiful Glasgow School of Art (an Arts and Crafts masterpiece by Charles Rennie Mackintosh), I don’t remember being overly enthused by the city. However, it’s where my mum, aunt and grandma are kicking off a cruise around the Scottish Isles early next week, and they’ve invited me to join them there for the weekend before.
So, if you have any recommendations for food, fun or otherwise, I’m all ears! Let’s see about this Glasgow place, shall we?
