Friends, I’ve had the most stressful week. With a last-minute project at work, deadlines looming and everything under the sun (seemingly) going wrong, each ring of the office telephone gives me heart palpitations. But come 6pm this evening I’m out the door for two blissful days of not even thinking about it.
This weekend I’ve got a lot to look forward to, including a breakfast date with a friend, a mini Arrested Development marathon (no, I haven’t had time to watch it all yet – no spoilers!), a picnic in a beautiful location (please stay sunny, please stay sunny) and a (possible) exciting new project to get stuck into. But before all that, I’m kicking off the evening with a big Italian dinner with friends: a bunch of my pals are seeing the hot-ticket Pompeii exhibit at the British Museum this evening and going out for an authentic Italian meal (dare I say “feast”?) afterwards.
I’ve been to the actual site of Pompeii before so I’m not that bothered about the exhibit, but you can bet I’ll be joining them for some good food, good wine and all that entails. I’ve been dreaming about it all week, so when I saw these lovely images on Domaine, of an Italian-themed celebration at interior designer Andrea Michaelson’s Beverley Hills home, they seemed so apropos. Boun Appetito!
