It’s a beautiful summer’s day here, and I have a fun-packed weekend planned, including (but is not limited to): a Dirty Dancing party in an East London park tonight (why yes, it will make my life), a long run on Saturday and a patio brunch with girlfriends on Sunday. All very fun, summery activities to look forward to.
However. As much fun as I’m having, there’s no denying it: summer is drawing to a close. The evenings are getting shorter, the nights crisper, and I crave ice cream less and soup more. This is hardly the end of the world, though: Autumn is my favourite season and I look forward to welcoming it with open arms.
One of the best things about embracing a new season is checking out all the new collections, catalogues and lookbooks that come with it. One brand I always anticipate checking in with is Toast. One of my favourite destination for home wares, I don’t generally go in for their women’s wear, but I do love all of their lookbooks. They’re usually shot in beautiful, far-flung places like Greece, Capri or Morocco, so it was a surprise to see that the September Women’s Wear Catalogue looking slightly less exotic (to me, at least). It was shot in beautiful Montreal, Quebec, a city my mother grew up in and that I spent a good amount of time in as a kid (though not enough as an adult, sadly).
These photos spoke to me like an old friend; cozy, comforting and a bit nostalgic. A bit like the Toast brand, yes, and a lot like Autumn.
Have a lovely weekend, all! x
